Peace on Earth

Season's Greetings! Today, I am sharing a new card tutorial featuring some of the wonderful products from Imagine. We were given the themes of "White" and " Shimmer and Sparkle" for the month of December, so I decided to combine the 2 into one card.

Supplies:
Imagine:
Creative Medium: Chartreuse
Sheer Shimmer Spritz: Sparkle and Frost

Other:
Stampendous: Peace on Earth Stencil, Palette Knife
Tombow: Foam Tape
White Cardstock: 1 smooth, 1 textured
EK Success: Corner Rounder

Directions:

1. Tape the stencil to smooth white cardstock. Scoop out some Chartreuse Creative Medium and glob it at the top of the stencil. Be sure to have the Creative Medium spanning the entire with of the stencil.

2. Holding the palette knife at a 45 degree angle, spread the Creative Medium in a single, smooth sweep across the entire stencil. If any spots are missed, you can touch them up, but try not to overwork the Creative Medium.

3. Remove the stencil and wash off any excess Creative Medium. Let the paste dry on your cardstock.

4. Trim the dried piece and use a corner rounder punch on each corner.

5. Spray with Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Sparkle. You can see some of the sparkle in the photo above. In real life, it glimmers so beautifully. But it's tough to capture it on camera. You can also see the pretty opalescent green shimmer of the Chartreuse Creative Medium.

6. Create the card base with a textured white cardstock. Cut to 8" x 5 1/2." Spray the card with Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Frost. You can see the shine in the above photo. Again, it is much more visible in real life.

7. Using Tombow's foam tape, apply 4 strips across the back of the stenciled layer for rigidity. Press on to card base.

The card is finished! It's subtle, but elegant and full of shimmer ans sparkle. I hope you'll give this white on white look a try!

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga

Remembering Aletha

Greetings, Friends. This post today is part of a very special blog hop. We are celebrating the life of an amazingly talented artist and friend. The crafting community lost Aletha Jane Williams on May 5, 2019. Those of us that worked with her on Design Teams or on Challenge Blogs all agree that she was one of the sweetest and most talented women we knew. We are not here to mourn her loss though. This hop is happening in conjunction with a very special celebration of her life and her art that her husband Bob is holding in her home city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Please join us in honoring our incredibly creative friend Aletha . My card features the "Remembering Aletha" Sprite, which Mitzi (owner and artist of Aurora Wings ) created specifically for this hop. She is generously giving the digi away to all, over on her blog. This sweet Sprite looks so much like Aletha, and I know she would have been honored. If you download this digi for yourself, please be sure to give a huge "
